A special thanks to Mr. & Mrs.Bomar for your hospitality.
Scott
Ballard Architect creates modern homes with the most spacious, smartest
layouts
I have ever seen. This particular house near Greenbriar and Colquitt is in an
area that works
well with both traditional and modern style living.
It is the fifth Ballard house that I have photographed and I must admit that
I would be
delighted to live in any of them. After getting to know the homeowner and seeing
their
particular lifestyle, it's evident that the house fulfils every desire on their
"must have" list.
Scott always delivers the goods in his floor plans, be it small home offices,
custom bookshelves, tropical gardens, and one-of-a-kind features never to be
repeated. Bravo!
Working alone on this project in a peaceful environment
was very invigorating,
I accomplished a surprisingly large amount of work. I concentrated on the functional
layout and used a straightforward approach. A series of patio doors and large
windows
throughout the house allows entry and exit visually if not physically. Seldom
can you enter
a house and see right through to the back yard! A second story balcony stretches
the
entire rear elevation with light flooding adjoining bedrooms to activity area.
Wonderful!
Experiencing this home in action demonstrates that good flow is essential and
how it can be
achieved. Feng Shui perhaps? The man of the house is a designer with a very
comfortable studio
incorporated in the front portion of the home with private client access to
his office. The private
garden further contributes creative inspiration and it is easy to see why anyone
would call this
house a complete modern dwelling.
